Needle’s agent works inside your Slack workspace: ask it for things in DMs or channels, and get hiring updates without opening the app.
Connect
Connect your Slack workspace from Settings → Integrations → Slack — it installs the Needle app and links it to your organization. Most teams also pick (or create) a hiring channel for updates.
Talk to the agent
DM the Needle app, or @mention it in any channel it’s in. It handles the same things you’d do in the app:
- “How’s the backend engineer pipeline looking?”
- “Draft a rejection email for Anna”
- “Move Tom to final round”
- “Open a senior designer role”
- “Enroll the top 5 sourced backend candidates in the standard sequence”
It answers with real data and links into the app when you want the full view.
Updates that come to you
In your hiring channel, the agent posts what needs attention:
- New applicants with their screening results
- Summaries after interviews
- Replies from candidates in outreach
- Sourced shortlists ready for review
Approving drafts
When the agent drafts an email or interview invite, the draft shows up in Slack with the full text. Approve it there and it sends; edit or dismiss it if it’s not right.
Nothing outbound is sent without your sign-off — the same approval rules apply in Slack as in the app.
