Needle exposes its tools over the Model Context Protocol, so you can work your pipeline from any MCP client. The server URL is:
You’ll find these same instructions in the app under Settings → MCP Server.

Connect your client

Add Needle as a custom connector. You’ll sign in with your Needle account when connecting.
  1. Go to claude.ai/customize/connectors
  2. Click the + button (top right), then Add custom connector
  3. Paste the server URL and save:
  1. Click Configure to sign in with Needle
The steps in ChatGPT are equivalent: add a custom MCP connector with the same URL.
Authentication is OAuth — you sign in with your Needle account and the connection is scoped to your organization. No API keys to manage.

What your assistant can do

Search candidates and jobs, read pipelines, screening results, and sourcing results, move candidates through stages, add notes, draft and send emails, check interview schedules, and manage outreach — enroll candidates in your sequences, pause a run, edit a queued message. Sourcing searches themselves run in the app — start one from the job’s Sourcing view, then have your assistant work with the scored results.

Once connected, try asking your assistant:
  • “Show me the top sourced candidates for my Senior Backend Engineer role and why they scored well.”
  • “Show me the top candidates in my Phone Screen stage and move the strongest ahead to Onsite.”
  • “Draft outreach to my three best sourced candidates and enroll them in my standard sequence.”
  • “Summarize my last interview with Priya and save the notes to her profile.”

Permissions and approvals

MCP access follows the same rules as the app: everything is scoped to your organization and actions are logged on candidate timelines. One-off emails are created as drafts — your assistant is expected to show you the draft and get your approval before sending. Outreach sequences send automatically once you activate them; replies stop the sequence for that candidate.
